Added some drum scores in the Media and Education section
When the internet wasn't yet widespread and the curiosity in finding the scores was as much as the difficulty in finding them, I always hoped to be able to have some, perhaps corrected...
Yes, because when you get what you so desired, maybe a piece in which you didn't understand a fill… In the end when you managed to play it, it had nothing to do with it… Desperation!
But it had its upside: eventually you learned to transcribe, so you also did a great study of ear-testing. And there wasn't the software that could play in solo the drums or the instrument you wanted to understand. No. You listened to it two hundred and fifty thousand times, until you caught all the single notes. Maybe from a cassette tape recorded thanks to a friend that own it, and listening to it with very questionable headphones, with an old sponge on the loudspeaker, connected to a beat-up walk-man…
This is why, looking at some scores I have played over time, I felt like creating a small section in which to insert drum sheets related to some of the projects I took part during the years.
I would like to implement it over time, as I manage to print them to pdf.
Yes, because the other problem at that time was that sometimes you could find some photos of hand-made notes. Apart from the fascination they had, imagining the favorite artist writing that paper, then there was the problem of interpreting it…!
At the moment I have inserted some drum scores of the William Jones project - La Porta Nuova, which I am currently working on. But not only.
You can find them in the "Media" section of the site. There is also the return link from the "Education" page.
Let me know if you find the idea interesting. And maybe I'll post more!
